It's been awhile

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile! Actually, don't know why I'm apologizing.. not one really reads this hahah. Anyway! The past few weeks have been full of making myself even more knowledgeable about health & what I've been putting in my body for the past 19 years.

You guys, this stuff is important. We are so uneducated about the food that surrounds us and what we've been told our whole lives is healthy. Can you believe that all illnesses including cancer can possibly be cured just by a plant based diet? I'm sure you're shaking your head, and that's because we've been raised to believe that medicine prescribed by a doctor is the only thing that can help us, but we are wrong!

Anyway, if you're interested in completely changing your life around (clear skin, more energy, weight loss, disease prevention) then start eating only fruits, vegetables and nuts. I'm not going to get into exactly what you need to eat, so I'll forward you to these movies: Food Matters, Vegucated, Forks Over Knives, Hungry For Change, & Fat Sick and Nearly Dead. These can all be found on Netflix and Amazon Instant Video.

Here are my past few weeks in pictures

easter weekend

The past few days have been really good. I've got to spend time with my Ty,
and we bought flights to go to England for two weeks at the end of May.
I beyond excited and could talk about it all day, but I won't bore you.

The market was full of beautiful spring flowers this weekend.

We dyed eggs (it was Tylers first time doing it because apparently
it's not a thing in England), and I made these fun peanut butter
& chocolate pretzel birds nests!

In the afternoon we went to my grandparents house for a
late lunch and I got to see my old puppy Carlos!

On a side note: I've been using these 2 products the past week
or so and they are LIFE CHANGING. Seriously. If you like to have soft skin
and hair and have been looking for a natural way to do that, go buy some
coconut oil right now. I got mine for under $10 on amazon.
Also, this Burt's Bees Herbal Blemish Stick is incredible.
It gets rid of spots a lot quicker than any other medical acne medication
I've ever had. You can get it at CVS for around $8! I highly recommend both products.

stuff

A couple of days ago we had a nice weather streak so my mom and I went on a
6 mile hike at Stoney Creek which is an awesome place to do all sorts of exercise
in the wilderness. It felt nice to be able to be active outdoors after a long
and horrible winter inside!

You know that song that says "you only need the light when it's burning low,
only miss the sun when it starts to snow, only know you love her when you let her go"..
well I feel like that song spoke volumes for me this year. I never realized how much I
loved being outside seeing the world green and alive until this years awful winter.

I also enjoyed a wonderful day with Tyler yesterday as he had the day off. I made him a
yummy waffle breakfast and we drank our favorite tea, earl grey, in the evening.
I love spending time with the love of my life and I wish we could do it more often.
Tomorrow he has the day off as well so that makes me happy :)

See you guys next time!

Not much has happened the past few days except the weather has been actually  spring like. So I've been spending time outside and of course COOKING.

Here's some things I've cooked in the past few days:
Banana, granola & chocolate chip cakes! (minus the cake..these things are HEALTHY!)
Underneath those apple cinnamon crescent rolls!!

I plopped some homemade cinnamon ice cream on top of these
cinnamon apple crescent roll thingys and it was the best dessert I think I've ever had!

So I went to the bulk food store with my mom which is a great little place that sells all sorts of things that you bag yourself and they charge you by weight. Anyway we wanted to make some chocolate bark and homemade granola bars so here they are!

 (white chocolate, pistachios & craisins)

(semi sweet chocolate, almonds, pistachios, craisins)
(vanilla & strawberry granola w/ honey, brown sugar and cinnamon)

& some fun in the sun!

Sunday, sunday

Tyler rarely gets days off work so when he does, we try to fit as much into the day as possible. Yesterday I made him breakfast then we went out for a few hours. We went to the outdoor mall cause it was a beautiful day, met the cutest puppy, then went to Five Guys. OH and I bought some more candles while we were out (don't judge me). When we got home we decided to take Scout on a walk and visit the horses.

Here's some photos:

(Oh and for dinner I made duck breast with a raspberry reduction!!!)
